Description
The Upjohn Institute prepared an economic and social comparative analysis of the greater St. Joseph-Benton Harbor region that: 1) Provided statistical evidence illustrating the strengths of the economic ties of the major cities in Berrien County; 2) Identified the unique strengths and assets of the region; 3) Identified the challenges facing the area including, but not limited to, the quality of its workforce, the lack of population growth, poverty, and the concentration of poverty; and 4) Identified key indicators that properly track the county’s success in building from its strengths and assets and addressing its challenges.
