Short-Term Planning Assistance for the Southcentral Michigan Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (EDA Investment No: 06-86-05876)
10/01/2013 - 09/30/2014
The Upjohn Institute prepared the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for the Southcentral Michigan Planning Council (SMPC). The report combined qualitative and quantitative data to develop a detailed economic analysis of the SMPC five-county region. Moreover, Institute staff worked with area economic stakeholders—public and private—to identify the region’s economic goals and objectives. Finally, the Institute collected information on planned economic development projects and activities in the region and, with the area’s economic stakeholders, prioritized these projects and activities according to the region’s identified goals and objectives.
