Description
This study uses Unemployment Insurance Wage Records to better understand sectoral adjustments in the New Jersey’s financial services industry through the analysis of hiring and separation patterns and firm dynamics during the recent recession. Using data from the state's public higher education institutions, the authors will analyze hiring and separation patterns for a cohort of recent graduates employed in the financial services industry. This study will inform employment policy discourse about how to provide services for unemployed individuals in the financial services sector and contribute to a better understanding of this industry.
