Description
This study contributes to the literature in three ways. First, it evaluates customized job training (CJT) in a setting that includes both newly hired and incumbent worker training programs, allowing me to test whether impacts differ across worker populations and program goals. Second, it examines firm outcomes that are central to the policy rationale for customized job training, including productivity measured by total factor productivity (TFP), output per worker, and payroll per trainee. Third, the study leverages rich administrative data paired with hand collected and digitized firm application records, which strengthens identification and supports an even more credible causal interpretation of program impacts.
