The Upjohn Institute estimated the economic impact of Northwestern Michigan College on the greater Traverse City region. The economic impact analysis estimated 1) the demand side impact of the college’s operations on the greater Grand Traverse regional economy, 2) the return on investment (ROI) for students completing their course work at NMC and 3) the impact of the college on the cost of doing business in the Greater Grand Traverse region. In addition, the Upjohn Institute in cooperation with NMC and their partners facilitated a community conversation of the region’s economic development stakeholders to share ideas about alternative economic growth scenarios for the region.
