Title
Feasibility Study for a Mid-North Promise
Project Dates
04/01/2014 - 05/30/2014
Description
The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and other stakeholders were considering the adoption of a place-based scholarship, or “Promise” program, to be known as The Mid-North Promise Community, for the neighborhood surrounding the museum. Upjohn Institute staff members visited Indianapolis to meet with stakeholders, helping to identify an appropriate program structure in light of critical needs, and estimating the feasibility and cost of such a program over a projected 10-year period. One notable feature of The Mid-North Promise Community is that it will include college scholarship funding for adult workers living in the neighborhood, not just recent high-school graduates.
