This paper presented a summary of policy and workplace practice options to create or maintain jobs for workers who experienced major disruptions to their productivity and careers due to illness, accidents, or other function-limiting events. Policy incentives or exemplary practices that facilitate successful return-to-work may be effective in reducing worker compensation or disability system costs.
