Title
Older Workers Labor Force Participation Rate
Project Dates
01/01/2016 -
Description
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has given IMPAQ International a contract to study factors that influence older workers’ labor force participation rate (LFPR). Upjohn Institute Senior Economist Chris O’Leary will assist DOL by serving as a subject matter expert on a technical work group supporting IMPAQ. The IMPAQ project involves a review of the research literature about labor market conditions for older workers and the effectiveness of public employment programs for older workers. To complement the findings from the literature review, IMPAQ will analyze large, nationally representative, data sources to paint a picture of the labor market participation decision facing older workers. The project aims to identify employment barriers, and to suggest policies and programs that can best support older workers increasing labor force participation.
