Description
The proposed research will examine the impact of offering full-day kindergarten on mothers’ labor supply using the recent five-year rollout of full-day universal public school for four- and five-year-olds in Ontario. I will link individual and family tax records to school records by mapping household postal codes onto school catchment areas to examine the impact of the new policy on maternal labor market outcomes (both extensive and intensive), household spending on childcare, and changes in transfer payments received.
