Title
Refining Workforce Education Supply and Demand Analysis
Project Dates
03/26/2014 - 01/31/2015
Description
The Washington Student Achievement Council was legislatively directed to produce a forecast of net job openings in occupations that require higher education and needed number of individuals who would receive postsecondary education or training to match the forecast. This project reviewed the methodology used by the Council and made recommendations about how it might be improved. In particular, Upjohn Institute staff members used data from a job postings aggregator to improve the allocation of net openings by occupation to educational categories. Staff members investigated alternative crosswalks between the OES and CIP categories. Finally, staff members attempted to model supply based on trends in population demographics.
